Kid History: Mozart

It's hard to think of the famous composer Mozart as a kid. But like all adults, he started out as a kid.

At just the age of five, Mozart composed his first piece of music! Composing is when you write a song yourself. Mozart mainly played the piano and violin. He was so talented, that just a few years after his first composition, he started touring all over Europe. He even played for kings and queens.

Mozart was born in the beautiful country of Austria, in the city of Salzburg. Throughout his life, he composed over 600 pieces of music, many of which we still hear today. Mozart's music can be heard at your local symphony, school recitals, on the radio and in movies.

If you visit Salzburg, Austria, you can tour Mozart's childhood home and see the room he composed his first song at the age of 5.
