Rock music, which is sometimes called "Rock-n-Roll", is a popular form of music that started in the 1950's. Many people consider Elvis Presley as the first real rock superstar, though he may not have been the very first rock artist. Many believe his version of the blues song "That's Alright Mama" was the first real rock song. That song became a massive hit and inspired an entire generation of new music!
Many people widely consider this version of "That's Alright Mama" as the first rock song.
Many other instruments have appeared in rock music, but these three are at its foundation.
The rhythm in rock 'n' roll is strong and steady, making it perfect for dancing. The beat is usually easy to follow, with a lot of energy and a fast pace.
The beat in rock music is what makes it so catchy and exciting. It gives the music its energy and helps bring all the instruments and vocals together. Without a strong beat, rock music wouldn’t be as fun to listen to or dance to. When you listen to it, you might feel like dancing, clapping your hands, or even jumping around. The music is full of energy and can make you feel happy and excited.
Rock has changed a lot! Check out this video that shows how much it has changed since the 1950's.
